I am now home from a too-long trip to the Portland area. I guess it is a little ironic that pigtails and ponytails have become the center of this blog. (at least for now they have...)
The ponytails that I referred to on my "are you hitting on me" (http://the-anonymous-traveler.blogspot.com/2008/09/are-you-hitting-on-me.html) entry were attached to M. The ponytails and pigtails for this entry were attached to two others whose names are unknown to me.
As I was in Portland over a weekend, I flew my wife up to join me for wine-tasting and shopping and possibly a trip to the beach. After getting her from the airport and settling in downtown, we decided to walk to a local wine-tasting. less than a block from the hotel, the first person that I saw was a redhead with short ponytails.
My wife and I had a great weekend; I took her to the airport Sunday night and continued to work in Portland for the week. There were no more "pt sightings" during the week but there was at the airport on my way home.
I stopped for coffee and was chatting with two sisters in line. They were wonderfully happy and friendly and headed to a wedding. One had her hair in a short pig-tail. At least she called a pig-tail. This got me thinking about the possible difference between the two. From Answers.Com, ponytails are defined as "A hairstyle in which the hair is held back so as to hang down like a pony's tail..." and pigtails are "A plait of braided hair." I have never been attracted to ponies or pigs so why do I find myself attracted women who wear their hair this way?
